Beliefs and Values

We all know how important it is to look after our planet and we are committed to doing our bit to tackle climate change and reduce our carbon footprint. We want to reduce the energy we use, tackle food miles and promote honestly grown food.

We try to make sure we only work with carefully selected, ethical suppliers and many of our Italian ingredients are sourced from small family-run artisan companies from Ponti's family home in the Emilia-Romagna region. Our suppliers are aiming to use rail freight for our Italian delicacies rather than air freight whilst our fresh meat, fruit and vegetables are sourced as much as possible from our UK supplier network.

We go to great lengths to ensure we cook with authentic, Italian products and wherever possible with foods that are free of artificial preservatives, colouring, sweeteners and hydrogenated fats. There are no sell-by dates on our fresh sandwiches and salads. They are made every day. We have changed our coffee blend supplied to us by Lavazza to Tierra! which is one of the few coffees on the high street certified by the Rainforest Alliance to help communities and the environment.

Bio-degradable materials are used wherever possible unless they compromise the quality of food you receive. This is a challenge but our buyers are always on the look out for ingenuous ways to package, keep food hot, keep food fresh and be environmentally responsible.So much more is in the pipe-line.

We have introduced a policy of putting all of our print on recycled materials, which might not look as pretty, but is definitely kinder to the environment.
